Our Mission
At Monarch News, we believe every story deserves to be heard, just as much as we believe everyone should have the chance to share one. Our mission is to amplify underreported humanitarian crises through an accessible platform to submit your work. We strive to combat misinformation by publishing accurate, unbiased, and well-researched content that informs and empowers readers.
What We Do
Monarch News is a nonprofit, student-led platform that brings together ambition and opportunity. This is how we do it.
-
Share accurate reporting on underreported international-level issues.
-
Highlight stories that deserve more attention and provide historical and cultural context.
-
Promote factchecking and source transparency through responsible journalism.
-
Connect readers with verified nonprofits, fundraisers, volunteer opportunities, and local initiatives.
Meet the Founders
Samira Chediak
FounderSamira Chediak founded Monarch News with a vision to restore trust in journalism while creating a platform where people from all backgrounds can showcase their skills and contribute meaningful work. Her goal was to bring attention to underreported stories, raise awareness of global issues, combat misinformation, and provide a space where voices can inform, educate, and inspire action.
FounderHelen Padron
Helen Padron was inspired by the issues in her community and her own sense of justice when founding Monarch News. Through student-made articles and community assistance, she hopes to foster the trust journalism once held, become a voice for those you cannot speak up, and inspire youth advocacy.
